The ribbon has just been cut to officially open the only Aerial Adventure Park in the region and it’s all happening at Grand Vue Park in Marshall County.
If you’re a thrill seeker, or if you’re just looking for something different to do with the whole family, this is where you’ll want to come this weekend to enjoy the great weather and fun at Grand Vue Park.
Grand Vue Park is staking it’s claim as an outdoor adventure destination, here in the Ohio Valley several unique activities, like capture the flag paint ball, Mountain Biking Trails, and now there newest Aerial Adventure Park, but with all of the great things to do here, many people are just starting to here about this park nestled in the hills of Marshall County.
“Personally, I didn’t even know this place even existed a couple of years ago, until I started working here, so I hope stuff like this will be able to get the word out, so people will want to come down here and check out all of this stuff that this area has to offer,” said Weirton native Jordan Miller.
Thursday, some special guests were invited down to take on the new Aerial Adventure that has a lot to offer to entice your sense of adventure.
The Aerial Rope Course, which sits 42-feet off the ground, the rockwall climbing tower, the Euro Trampoline, Giant Swing, Repelling Wall, or the Mega Jump is not for the faint of heart.
“I’m very excited though, I’m a little nervous about the one that pulls you off and it’s like a free-fall, I’ve done it once somewhere else and it was scary, so I’m hoping it’ll be a little better this time,” said Miller.
This new expansion of the park is just one of many over the last few years, from the Zip Line Canopy tour, to the nearly 25-miles of mountain bike trails, the thrills just keep coming.
“We’ve actually work towards that outdoor adventure park and you know that we started in 2012 with the zip line canopy tour and this was just the next step to provide something for all ages and sizes,” said GrandVue Park General Manager Craig White.
The expansion isn’t just about adding more things for you to do in the Ohio Valley, it’s also about the economic factor and adding more jobs and bringing more people into Marshall County.
“In this area, we have so many good people, the employees and everybody thought we were going to get employees, we got great employees and you’re going to see that today, these guys take great care of you, have a lot of fun with it and we’re real excited,” said White.
The grand opening for the Aerial Adventure is noon tomorrow and while you’re here you can check out the second annual Wind Festival that will feature some massive kites, and grab a bite to eat at the new TrailHead Grille featuring the Mason Dixon Barbeque.
