One senior at Linsly High school received a big honor on Sunday afternoon.
David Weaver Jr. of Wheeling earned his Eagle Scout badge after being a six-year member of the Ohio River Valley Council Troop 6.
David is active in the community outside of Boy Scouts and volunteers at Oglebay and with the Wheeling Symphony.
For his Eagle Scout project he worked with federal fish and wildlife management to make a park located along Buffalo Creek in Brooke County, accessible for the public.
He explained the most rewarding part, “Probably actually doing the project. The organization and the set up for it was a little tedious, however, the actual process of working hard and getting it all done is I think the most rewarding part.”
His project was part of a $750,000 dollar upgrade to the park.
