U.S. Attorney William Ihlenfeld has partnered with the local “Dream Teams” encouraging advocacy and motivation.
The goal is to determine a drug prevention public service announcement that will best resonate with their peers.
Two students from each Harrison County, West Virginia high school make up the dream team and were excited to work with Ihlenfeld.
“The more we can tap into the knowledge of young people, the better off we are and that peer to peer messaging can be very effective. in other words instead of adults like me deciding what the message should be, if we can tap into the minds of 15, 16, 17 year old kids to see what they think would really have an impact and would discourage them from using drugs, we’re much better off,” said Ihlenfeld.
Ihlenfeld also met with members of the Harrison County Prevention Partnership to discuss Narcan and the Good Samaritan Act.
