Local Woman Facing Life in Prison After Leaving Dead Baby on Steps

A local woman is facing charges after she allegedly left her dead baby on the campus of Muskingum University.

20-year-old Emile Weaver of Clarington is being charged with aggravated murder, abuse of a corpse, and two counts of tampering with evidence.

Authorities found the baby’s body on the college campus back in April.

Local authorities say that the baby was born alive, before being placed in a trash bag where the child suffocated.

They say the baby was less than one day old.

If convicted, Weaver could spend life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Her arraignment has been scheduled for July 29.
