Local Woman Jumping From New River Gorge Bridge to Raise Money for Michael’s Meanies

A local thrill seeker is looking to not only satisfy her need for danger, but support Michael’s Meanies.

Elizabeth Reinhardt, of Wheeling is taking part in a West Virginia Bridge Day contest in which, if she wins, she will tandem jump from an 875-foot high bridge, and parachute down into the New River Gorge, near Fayetteville in West Virginia and win $1,000 for Michael’s Meanies.

Reinhardt says she’s never done anything like this before, but the jump is for more than herself, but to those affected by cancer. Reinhardt lost her father to Sarcoma recently and is using this competition to win $1,000 for Michael’s Meanies in support of pediatric cancer awareness.

“Michael’s Meanies means the world to me and a lot of people in the Ohio Valley. It’s really important that we continue to spread awareness, no matter who wins. I really hope I can win. It just means everything to us, and a $1,000 will help so many pediatric care patients.”
