The days between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Day are some of the most dangerous of the year on the nations roadways.
With those holidays just around the corner, Straub Automotive teamed up with the Wheeling Chapter of Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD).
Their goal is to raise awareness about the dangers of drinking and driving during this busy time of year.Straubb Automotive hosted the annual “Tie One on for Safety” campaign Tuesday afternoon. Volunteers from MADD along with members of the Wheeling Police Department tied red ribbons on Straub vehicles.
Jody Miller, president of MADD’s Wheeling chapter said they tie the ribbons to pledge not to drink and drive, hoping people will have a designated driver.
Starting back in 1986, the “Tie One on for Safety” campaign is one of MADD’s longest running and most visible projects.
