A man is behind bars after he allegedly ran from police with a loaded handgun then barricaded himself in an apartment.

It happened around noon on Thursday in Steubenville, when police received a call about a suspicious car in Union Cemetery. Upon arrival, they saw the car turning onto Sunset Boulevard, leaving the cemetery.

When the car pulled over under the Adams Street overpass, they said Eddie Satlers ran down Washington Street towards the Heritage Place apartments holding a black automatic handgun.

Police said he then ran into an apartment and wouldn’t come out until officers announced that K9 Bono would be released.

Salters then came out and surrendered. Another man, Robert Miller, in the car at the time, was arrested on a bench warrant.
