The man who police believe fired a gun into the Steubenville apartment where a 16-year-old girl was hit in both feet, has been arrested.  Nathaniel Dickerson, 36, of Steubenville, was arrested after being recognized by an off-duty police officer in a gas station in the city Saturday evening.  According to the police report, the off-duty officer notified patrol units.  Dickerson was then followed, and pulled over for a traffic violation when he failed to signal a turn.  That’s when police were able to positively identify and arrest him.

There were two women in the car with him at the time. One of whom, the owner of the car, Shirley Russell. 28, of Steubenville, was arrested for wrongful entrustment for letting Dickerson drive her vehicle without a license.

Steubenville detectives tell 7News, Dickerson had an outstanding felony warrant stemming from the shooting incident that took place back on December 15 at 460  S 5th St., and is also charged with driving under a suspended license among other charges.

He is scheduled to be in court Thursday at 9:00 a.m..
