Man Arrested on Kidnapping Charges in Weirton

One man is behind bars and charged with numerous offenses after holding a woman against her will in Weirton.

Police said a woman came to the station around 9 a.m. Wednesday and reported her daughter was held against her will at her ex-boyfriend’s home on Rice Blvd. Andrew Keenan, 25, had apparently invited his ex-girlfriend over to his house to reconcile, and one she got there he refused to let her go.

Police said Keenan allegedly kept the woman there overnight, while making repeated threats to harm her. The woman was able to get out and text her mother. When the mother arrived at the property, Kennan reportedly threw her off the property with threats and violence.

Keenan is being charged with kidnapping and possession of a controlled substance. Police said several loaded firearms were in plain view, along with marijuana and pills. He was arraigned by the Brooke County Magistrate, and his bond is set at $100,000.
