One New Jersey man has written a love letter every single day to his wife of almost 40 years, according to ABC News.Bill Bresnan, 74, has more than 10,000 love letters filed chronologically in his home sent to his wife Kirsten Bresnan, 74.
ABC News reported that Bresnan continues to write them to this day.
“All the letters are signed, ‘I love you, my darling’ with an infinity sign,” Bresnan told ABC News Thursday. “They’re essentially a love diary. For example, I could pick out a day in 1982, and it’ll begin with the restaurant we ate in or a movie we saw and then a reaction to that.”
Bresnan told ABC News the daily love letters are part of what has helped make his marriage last over the years.
“The key to any relationship is that you both have to work at it every day,” Bresnan told ABC News. “And never go to bed mad. Talk about everything. Everything should get resolved before your goodnight kiss.”
ABC News reported Bresnan is proud to express his love for his wife and hopes younger generations will be inspired by his love letter journey as making a real connection with someone in person is much more satisfying and valuable than focusing on technology.
