As the holiday season sets in, many organizations are working to help those less fortunate.
One local agency thought they would focus on giving Christmas gifts to a population who isn’t mentioned quite as often during Christmas. The Marshall County Family Resource Network is working with local organizations and schools to put together a gift bag worth about $100 retail price, each, for local teenagers.
The Marshall County F.R.N. has been working on this project for a couple months now, and they believe it’s important to not forget their local teens.
“We have a lot of young people who are kind of forgotten. You know, Christmas is really for everyone, so we try to think about people who may not have as great as a Christmas as others. We’ve got a really generous community, and we know that and we’ve worked really well with our businesses and our partners, and I think it’s just really, pulling everyone together to do something for a group that’s not really served as much as others,” said Stacie Dei with the Marshall County Family Resource Network.
Each Christmas bag will be filled with lotion, hygiene items and some warm clothing. They’re hoping to give them out 100 to local teens.
