The families of murder victims gathered on Sunday afternoon to remember their loved ones in the 11th annual event designed to honor their memories.
While the crowd was a little smaller this year, the idea behind the September 25th event remains the same. Former victim’s coordinator at the Ohio County Prosecutor’s Office Sharon Parker has a personal connection, as her grandson was a victim of a violent crime.
“To help with the healing and transforming of going beyond their loss, and most of all to show community support and to show them that we remember that their loved one is no longer there,” she said.
The event continues every year to get the families together to help them heal.
