More Arrests Made In Connection to Fatal Shooting

UPDATE (12/6/16 at 1:15 p.m.):

Two more people were arrested on Tuesday in connection to a robbery and murder in Fairmont.

According to the Fairmont Police, Vanny Clay, 26, was arrested and charged with first-degree robbery in connection with the murder that occurred on Watson Avenue on November 17. Police also arrested Michelle Belton, 27, on first-degree murder charges in relation to the incident.

At this time, there are no details surrounding the roles that Clay and Belton played in the incident.


UPDATE (12/02/16 at 2:00 a.m.):

Fairmont Police have arrested two more suspects in connection with the fatal Watson Avenue shooting that happened on November 17.

Timothy Lambert, 31, is charged with first-degree murder. His wife, Cassie Lambert, 33, was charged with obstructing.

The two were found holed up in a hotel room registered under an abettor’s name, police said. 

Both were transported to North Central Regional Jail.

The U.S. Marshals Service and Morgantown Police aided Fairmont Police in apprehending both suspects. 

This is an ongoing investigation.  


UPDATE (11/30/16 at 12:30 a.m.):

Authorities have confirmed the identity of the man who was killed in the shooting that happened on November 17 in Fairmont. The victim was 27-year-old Malcolm Whitted, of Detroit.

According to police, there were five people involved in the incident. Three were involved in a home invasion, and the other two were in the car.

Fairmont Police have arrested Devon Stephens, 25, of Fairmont. 

Stephens is charged with first degree murder and is currently in the North Central Regional Jail.


UPDATE (11/18/16 at 4 p.m.):

Fairmont Police have confirmed that someone was killed after a shooting at 232 Watson Avenue in Fairmont Thursday night.

Emergency crews are currently on the scene of a reported shooting in Marion County.

911 officials received a call of a reported shooting around 7 p.m. on Watson Avenue in Fairmont. 

Fairmont Police, Marion County Sheriff’s Department, West Virginia DNR, Fairmont Fire Department and Marion County Rescue Squad were all dispatched to the scene.
