Mother’s Complaint Results in Son’s Arrest for Multiple Home Burglaries

Police arrested a man they say is responsible for a number of home burglaries in the Colliers Way area of Weirton.

Officers responded to a residence at 237 Ritchie Avenue about a woman wanting to file a complaint against her son. Upon arrival, officers recognized a black leather jacket that was similar to a leather jacket worn by a suspect in a previous house burglary. When officers asked the woman about the jacket, she informed them it belonged to her son, Terry Lee Orbin Jr.

Detectives then reviewed surveillance video of a previous house burglary and found the black leather jacket did match the jacket worn in the video. Detectives also checked Numerous pawn shops in the area and found that Orbin did in fact pawn numerous items at these shops that were found to be stolen during house burglaries committed in the Weirton Colliers Way area.

Officers returned to 237 Ritchie Avenue where they located Orbin and placed him under arrest for two counts of nighttime burglary.

A search of the residence revealed numerous stolen items from multiple house burglaries the department is currently investigating.
