Moundsville is honoring all veterans and first responders with Mountain Valor on the Avenue.
The event kicked off on Friday evening at 6 p.m. and will run through Saturday evening.
It’s being held on Jefferson Avenue, and events including the reading of the names on the West Virginia Vietnam Memorial Wall at 10 a.m. Saturday by state, city, and county representatives.
At 11:30 a.m. the Army National Guard Band will perform at the Strand Theatre, followed by Vietnam TV History at 1 p.m.
A firefighter challenge will be held at the North City Parking Lot at 1 p.m.
At 3 p.m. Saturday, the 249th Army National Guard Band will perform at the Strand Theatre.
A steak fry and entertainment will be held at 5 p.m.
“This is an honor of not only the people on the Vietnam Wall, but also all first responders and all military for the weekend. It’s going to be a huge, huge weekend and many things are going to be happening from the 249th military band to the 459th flag display to the firefighters challenge,” event organizer Phil Remke said.
The mobile West Virginia Vietnam Wall will be on display all weekend, along with emergency vehicles and patriotic window displays.
