The Village of Bethlehem will have a new mayor for the first time in nearly a decade.
Tim Bishop was officially sworn in Wednesday afternoon by Judge James Mazzone. He defeated Incumbent Rett Daniel earlier this month in a close race that came down to just 23 votes.
Bishop will take over as mayor next Wednesday. His first council meeting will be on July 6th, where he will sworn in again in a ceremony along with the rest of Village Council.
“I just want to get to work,” Bishop said. “We are moving closer and closer to that goal. This is another step. I’m just really excited about being able to help the village.”
Bishop said one of his first goals will be to make improvements to the village park.
