An exciting announcement in Benwood today, a new company along with new job opportunities moving into Industrial Park Road.

The old Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Pipe mill is getting a makeover. 45 new jobs will be available at the new state-of-the art plant. The news is exactly what Mayor Kuca said the city needs during the Holiday season.

JLE Industries, an oil and gas firm from from Dunbar,Pennsylvania, approached city officials about restoring the old plant that was sitting vacant.
The mayor said Benwood has always been an industrial city, and JLE will give the city an economic boost, as a big tax-paying industry with high-paying jobs.

“The facility is state of the art, best in the whole country and I mean that’s really amazing that they found this location. And great paying jobs, jobs that you can actually raise a family on and its just an exciting event right now happening in Benwood,” said Ed Kuca, mayor of Benwood.

The company is already hard at work cleaning the plant and rewiring machinery. The mayor said the kind of technology set to run out of the plant is essential for the natural gas industry. The cranes and booms should be up and running by the middle of January 2016.

The mayor said he is working to make sure the majority of the jobs are given to local men and women.
