Steubenville City Schools have released a statement about the fire that claimed the lives of two of their students, Sunday.
6-year-old East Garfield Elementary student Amber Shope and 10-year-old Harding Middle School student Terry Richardson Jr. died in the house fire.
A statement released by Steubenville City Schools read: “It is a very sad day for Steubenville City Schools the thoughts and prayers of the entire Steubenville City Schools Community go out to the Shope and Richardson families. Amber and Terry will be greatly missed by the entire Steubenville City School family especially their friends and staff members. East Garfield and Harding Middle School will provide grief counselors Monday through Friday of this week to help students and staff members deal with their thoughts and feelings associated with the loss of Amber and Terry.”
According to Steubenville Fire Chief Carlo Capaldi, a 46-year-old woman also died in the fire. Her name has not yet been released.

Capaldi says a 56-year-old man was also one injured and was taken to a Pittsburgh area hospital.
