A disgruntled dad in North Dakota took to Facebook after the principal of his son’s high school rejected his son’s senior yearbook picture.
The photo shows senior student Josh Renville holding a rifle.
“It’s a picture,” Charlie Renville wrote on Facebook. He is calling his outcry a “fight for freedom.”
According to the Facebook post, when confronted about the issue, Fargo North High School Principal Andy Dahlen said that people cannot bring guns on school property — “it’s the law.”
Renville goes on to compare his son’s photo to those of military soldiers in school libraries.
“What item is illegal in this picture? I see a kid that loves his nation, loves free speech, and loves the 2nd Amendment. The rifle is a rifle he built and it is his favorite rifle.”
