Officials Release Details in Last Month’s Officer-Involved Shooting in Weirton

A press conference in Hancock County pieces together the whole story in the May 6 officer-involved shooting in Weirton.

Hancock County Prosecutor James Davis says what began as a late night domestic dispute between Ronald Williams, Jr and his ex-girlfriend, turned violent and suicidal.

Police responded to a 9-1-1 call and found Mr. Williams outside the home with a gun.

He was asked several times to drop the gun, but proceeded to point it at each of the three officers.

One officer fired four shots at Williams, one hitting him in the head.
