New details have been released on a serious accident that sent two local students and another woman to the hospital Thursday night in Jefferson County.
Officials with the Ohio State Highway Patrol say 16-year-old Keith Allen Maple III was driving a car with a 15-year-old passenger Aaron Lee Robinson.
Officers say Maple was headed north when he went left of center, hitting another car driven by 58-year-old Loretta Williams. Williams’ car was pushed back into the car behind her.
Both teens, Indian Creek students, were thrown from the car. Williams’ had to be cut out of her car. All three were flown to Pittsburgh hospitals.
The accident is still under investigation but OSHP believe speed was a factor.
Indian Creek Superintendent T.C. Chappelear released the following statement:
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims of this accident and their families and we will continue to support them and all of our students through this difficult time.”
