HOUSTON, TX – A three-year-old boy died in Houston after he was found in a hot car on Thursday afternoon.
According to CBS affiliate KHOU, the Houston Fire Department arrived at the car around 2 PM. Houston was under a heat advisory yesterday and temperatures were in the upper 90s.
The child was rushed to a hospital because he suffered cardiac arrest, and he was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Houston Police homicide detectives are investigating the incident, according to KHOU. It is not known how the child got into the vehicle parked in a front yard at this time.
KHOU reports the boy’s mother was with him at the hospital, and the boy’s father was being interviewed by authorities.
