When students in Ohio County head back to the classroom later this summer, they’ll have a new leader in charge.

On Monday night the Ohio County Board of Education gave the official nod to Stacy Greer.

She will now be the principal at West Liberty Elementary and Bethlehem Elementary.

Greer is a Wheeling resident and received her education degree at West Liberty University.

In 2011 Greer was named the Wheeling Chamber of Commerce Teacher of the Year and in 2014 was awarded the Arch Coal Golden Apple Teacher Award.

Dr. Dianna Vargo, Superintendent of Ohio County Schools said, “Ms. Stacy Greer is an outstanding educator with deep passion and energy for teaching and learning, and her leadership skills will benefit both the Bethlehem Elementary and West Liberty Elementary school communities.”

WTRF.com would like to wish Greer the best of luck in the upcoming school year.
