Ohio County Family Finally Gets Jewelry Back After More Than a Decade

It was a crime that torn apart one woman’s family after her mother, father, and brother were murdered and now evidence from that crime are being returned.

It all took place during a 2004 robbery, money and jewelry was taken from the Conniff family’s Triadelphia home by William Richard Spears Jr. and Jeffrey Ray Woods after the murders. That jewelry has been with the Ohio County Prosecutor ever since.

This week it will be returned to Melissa Och, the surviving family member, after local attorney Shawn Fluharty, a relative of the Conniff’s, asked Judge Martin Gaughn to remove the jewelry from evidence.

The jewelery will be returned on Wednesday.
