Ohio High School Athletic Association Sets Guidelines to Limit Concussions

Archives

In the hopes of reducing the risk of concussions, the Ohio High School Athletic Association has placed limits on full-contact drills during football practices.

Under these guidelines, full-contact drills are allowed after a five-day adjustment period during preseason practice and are only permitted during one session of two-a-day preseason practices to give players recovery time.

These changes also limit players to 30 minutes of full-contact practice per day, and only 60 minutes per week during the regular season.
