COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) – Ohio liquor violation investigators are reminding high school graduates and their families not to violate state alcohol laws during graduation party season.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Ohio Investigative Unit says illegal acts include underage drinking and providing alcohol to minors.

The unit notes it is illegal for parents to provide a “safe” place for their underage children and children’s friends to drink.

It is also illegal for adults in their own home to provide alcohol to children under 21 who are not their own, even if the children have their own parents’ permission.

Under Ohio law, someone under 21 caught driving with a blood-alcohol content of just 0.02 percent can be arrested. The level for those over 21 is 0.08.
