An Ohio judge gave a teenager an unusual sentence after she and a friend stiffed a cab driver.
According to WEWS, Lake County Judge Michael Cicconetti sentenced Victoria Bascom to walk 30 miles, which was the mileage of her cab ride from Cleveland to Painesville.
Bascom had her choice. She could spend 30 days in jail or walk 30 miles in 48 hours while wearing a GPS tracker. She chose to accept the 30 mile m,ak
Cicconetti felt bad for the cab driver because he said most of them are on contract so he lost $100 due to Bascom stiffing him.
ABC News caught up with Judge Cicconetti who said after seeing that Bascom was likely not going to finish walking 30 miles in less than 48 hours because she walked in an grassy, muddy area of the grounds rather than the asphalt around it, Cicconetti reduced the sentence to 20 miles.
Bascom will be on probation for the next four months, and she has to pay $100 restitution to the driver she stiffed, Ciconnetti said.
