A mother concerned about gender equality at a local Target store in Green, Ohio started a social media frenzy.

Abi Bechtel, 33, was shopping in Target and snapped a photo of a sign in the toy aisle categorizing “building sets” and “girls’ building sets.”

Bechtel posted the picture on Twitter saying “Don’t do this, @Target” and it got more than 2,000 retweets.

She believes the sign suggests that it’s normal for building sets to be for boys and not for girls.

Target issued a statement saying that their goal is to provide guests with choices and know families are tight on time when shopping.

Targets says guests prefer having a variety of indicators that can help inform and guide their shopping trip but will look into how to better organize stores to be more convenient.
