Ghosts, princesses, and the Mario Brothers are the kind of characters that could be seen at the Ohio Valley Mall Saturday, and amongst all of them there were no bullies.
It was part of the mall’s Be a Buddy, Not a Bully Halloween Party.
Dozens of children collected candy, made Halloween crafts, won prizes, and were awarded for best costumes. They also walked through the mall for an anti-bully walk and signed a pledge against bullying.
Ohio Valley Mall Marketing Director, Candi Noble-Greathouse, said it was a great time to spread a good message during one of the mall’s busiest times.
“The month of October is a wonderful month to be a buddy and not a bully so we have tied that in because Halloween has always been a popular holiday here. Captain McFinn and Coral Rose are in costume so might as well dress up,” said Noble-Greathouse
The top three costumes all took home prize packs from the Ohio Valley Mall, those winning costumes included a Mario Brother, a Zombie Bride, and Jack Skellington. The costumes were judged by employees from Rue 21.
