A local gourmet cookie company is taking their business to a national level.
Giorgio Cookie, based of out Bellaire, Ohio recently appeared on The Home Shopping Network in Florida and has products in more than 40 states nationwide.
It all began at Center Cup Coffee Shop in Wheeling when owner Theresa Childers started seeing Giorgio’s gourmet cookies fly off her shelves. At the time the previous owner was looking to sell the company. It was a dream that quickly became a reality for co-owners Theresa and her daughter Brandi.
“She got very busy and decided she wanted to sell the company and my daughter and I both purchased it a little over 3 years ago and with that said we have done a lot of coffee trade shows across the country from New York, to Washington to Georgia,” said Theresa Childers, co-owner.
And that eventually lead them to The Fancy Food Show in New York, one of the largest in the country.
On Monday, her daughter Brandi made her first ever live appearance on HSN, putting Bellaire on the map.
The first show received such a great response, they’ve already been invited back.
“It’s like a dream come true you know you dream big and hopes you get there someday and all of a sudden its like our feet hit the ground in the morning and were taking off running, its been very exciting,” said Childers.
What sets their cookies and biscotti apart?
“They are hand done with the finest ingredients possible that you could use. We use real butter, real chocolate. Are biscotti is a soft biscotti,” said Childers.
The love that goes into making these delicious treats has landed them in 11 Kroger stores and more than 300 coffee houses.
Right now they have just 10 employees but will be expanding as the business continues to grow.
“You hear and see so much negative that I’m very excited to bring something to our valley. Our customers are wonderful it’s a love,” said Childers.
Right now they are running a Mother’s Day special you can check out on their website giorgiocookieco.com.
