One person had to be extricated from their vehicle and flown to the hospital after an accident on Monday night in Marshall County. It happened just before 6 p.m., according to Emergency Management Director Tom Hart.
Route 2 south near the Bayer Plant was shut down for a short time while crews worked to clear the scene.
There is no word on the condition of the driver who had to be rescued from the vehicle, or what could have caused the accident.
Crews from New Martinsville, Moundsville, Washington Lands, Wetzel County EMS, Tri-State EMS and Air Evac life Team responded to the scene.
