Online DMV Services Not Likely to Affect Employee Positions

Officials say the West Virginia Division of Motor Vehicle’s online service isn’t likely to affect employee positions at regional offices.
The Associated Press reports that officials say the new service allows state residents to visit the DMV website to pay license reinstatement fees, get duplicate registration cards, decals or plates, check driver’s license status, request driving records, register for organ and tissue donation, change their addresses and to search for personalized plates.
Other services are also available online at
In a statement, officials say that online servicing is part of Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin’s focus on “providing citizens more access, transparency and convenience, in relation to state government agencies.”
DMV spokeswoman Natalie Holcomb said the online services are also likely to make trips to the DMV office more convenient.
