ONLY ON 7: Santa Makes Special Call to Martins Ferry PD

The Fraternal Order of Police in Martins Ferry work to protect and serve, but they also come running when Santa calls.

The FOP has been working closely with Child Protective Services and local businesses to bring a little Christmas joy to some people who are experiencing rough times.

Sgt. Beth Scales with the Martins Ferry PD said, “We’re always looking for new ideas on what we can do to contribute to Martins Ferry, our community, to our youth of the community. We try to be positive roll models for them and by giving to others, I think is a perfect example of what the Holiday season is about.”

That is exactly what they are doing. The FOP was given the names of two families that are deserving of a Christmas miracle. Santa let them know what each kid liked and they took it from there getting toys and wrapping gifts.

“I try to teach my kids, it’s not the material things, it’s more love than anything and that’s what our City is showing us this year. A lot of love,” said local mom Lisa Ring.

A total of eight children and their parents will have a Merry Christmas because of the kind hearts and actions of everyone involved.

Sgt. Scales said this wouldn’t be possible without the contributions made by a silent investor.
