If you’re still looking to sign up for the West Virginia Health Insurance Marketplace, a free counseling session will be held Thursday.
It’s at the Ohio County Public Library from noon until 7:00 p.m. and a team of people will be there to answer your questions and help you sign up.
A lot of people think they may not be able to afford the insurance coverage, but there is assistance available.
“That’s the number one question we have is how much does it cost, the answer is it is different for everybody but financial assistance is available. I think last year, 86 percent of people that signed up through the marketplace qualified for financial assistance that helped lower their monthly premiums right away,” said Jeremy Smith.
Anyone with questions about re-enrollment or enrolling for the first time are encouraged to come meet with the team of insurance counselors.
The deadline to re-enroll is December 15th and the deadline to sign up for benefits for first-time users is January 31st.
