The WVU Ohio Valley Children’s Hospital Gala concluded it’s 11th year Saturday, and organizers said they are excited for continued success for the evening that has raised thousands of dollars for continued services for people all over our region.
Brenda Miller, the event chairwoman, said for the first time in the history of the Gala they were able to sell out the event. This was welcomed news for not just the organizers, but for everyone who may need to depend on the care provided by WVU Children’s Hospital, because all of the money raised will go toward providing the best services the hospital can offer to their patients, “WVU Children’s Hospital has a fully staffed helicopter as well as an ambulance and it goes all over the state of West Virginia and surrounding states to take our children to that hospital for the specialized care they need,” Miller said.
She hopes the Gala this year was able to raise more money than last year’s total of $40 thousand. She added that if it wasn’t for the committee who has been with her, many since day one, this fundraiser wouldn’t be possible.
WTRF is proud to be apart of this event.
