OVAC Tennis Championships Open With Boys Doubles


The OVAC Tennis Championships at West Liberty University opened Monday , featuring boy’s doubles. There are 16 teams competing for team and individual titles.
The first day of boy’s competition was completed with Parkersburg South leading the 5A division with 8 points, followed closely by University with 7 points, Cambridge has 5 points, John Marshall and Steubenville each have 4 points, Wheeling Park 2 points and Brooke 1 point.

East Liverpool leads the 1A/4A division with 6 points, followed by St. Clairsville with 4 points, Indian Creek, Linsly, Oak Glen and Wheeling Central each with 1 point.

No.1 Doubles Ben White/Josh Cramlet (Parkersburg South) defeated Drew Hawthorne/Sam
Valenzuela (University) 8-5.

No.2 Doubles Chris Montgomery/Isaac Davidson (East Liverpool) defeated Akshay
Suresh/Logan Clegg (Parkersburg South) 8-5.

No.3 Doubles Joseph Gutmann/Deiland Slaughter (University) defeated Joe Goggin/Mason
Long (Cambridge) 8-3.

Competition continues tomorrow with girl’s doubles beginning at 8:30 a.m..
