Some dog owners in Marshall County could soon be facing charges after a disturbing incident in Moundsville on Friday.
Police Chief Tom Mitchell says his officers were called to 6th street after a report of two Pitbulls viciously attacking a puppy Pitbull.
After trying to get the dogs to stop, one of the dogs hid and the other continued attacking. Police say an officer then shot the dog, but it is expected to survive. The dog is being treated by a local veterinarian.
The dog that was mauled is also being treated.
Chief Mitchell says the owner may be charged under the vicious dog ordinance.
