United States Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld, II, announced Thursday Brian Schultz, 38, of Triadelphia was sentenced to 97 months in prison for coordinating and operating a Detroit, Mich. to Wheeling, W.Va. prescription painkiller and cocaine distribution ring.
Drug enforcement authorities said Schultz orchestrated an extensive network of associates to redistribute prescription pills throughout the Ohio Valley.
He obtained large quantity of pills from groups in Detroit.
Schultz admitted to his role in distributing oxycodone, cocaine, and buprenorphine in November 2014.
Schultz was also ordered Thursday to forfeit approximately $70,000 and to pay a money judgment of $30,000.
Assistant U.S. Attorney John Parr prosecuted the case on behalf of the government.
Senior U.S. District Judge Frederick P. Stamp presided.
