INDIANA, Pa. (AP) – A former western Pennsylvania high school shop teacher who acknowledged having had sex with a 16-year-old student three years ago has been ordered to spend four years on probation.
Thirty-year-old Todd McCullough of Kiski, a former teacher at Saltsburg Middle/High School, will also have to register as a sex offender under the state’s Megan’s Law.
McCullough pleaded guilty in March in Indiana County to indecent assault and indecent exposure. Prosecutors dropped seven other charges, including felony rape.
McCullough acknowledged having had sex with the girl in the spring of 2012 in a back room of a shop classroom. He was fired after she went to police in October 2013.
The victim said in a statement that McCullough took advantage of her trust at a vulnerable time in her life.
