The plans have begun in Belmont County for the new Senior Services Center.
The center will be built on the same property where the existing building sits.
County Commissioners say this is a long time coming, because the existing one is out of date and too small.
“We’re hoping to take care of our tax payers families. Our aunts, grandmothers, and our sister in laws, and its important project. Its great to be able to use the tax payer money that way to invest in their families,” added Belmont County Commissioner Ginny Favede.
The commission has put away $2.5 million dollars over the past 2 years to help fund the project.
“It has been a dream or vision that we were going to complete this. I’m just so excited to be here and be a part of it,” said Commissioner Matt Coffland.
According to Commissioners, all of the construction work will be done by local workers, with the goal of keeping money in Belmont County.
