Police in Belmont County have arrested three people during a drug bust in Bellaire.
According to Belmont County Drug Task Force Commander John McFarland, police arrested Donald Menough Jr., Jessica Bates, and Anthony Hocker at a house in the 4100 block of Harrison Street after officers recovered 70 pills and various drug abuse instruments.
Two children, ages 9 and 13, were handed over to the custody of Children’s Services.
“(The) world is tough enough now on kids. And having to live this kind of lifestyle and seeing these things going on with parents who they should be looking up to as role models is definitely a big problem with me. I have a real big issue with that,” said Chief McFarland.
Menough Jr. is charged with 2 counts of trafficking in heroin, 2 counts of endangering children, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of drug abuse instruments.
Bates is charged with 2 counts of trafficking in heroin, 2 counts of endangering children, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of drug abuse instruments.
Hocker is charged with 2 counts of trafficking in heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Officers also recovered 106 grams of cocaine and two digital scales from another house in the 4300 block of Franklin Street in Bellaire. No arrests have been made in connection to that location.
Police say the investigation in both locations is ongoing and more arrests could be forthcoming.
