Aggressive Panhandling Sunday is what Bellaire Police say lead to the arrest of Aaron Michael Baker, 29, of St. Clairsville.

If you’ll recall, Baker is the same person witnesses and police said was harassing other people in the Moundsville area a couple of weeks ago.

Bellaire police said he was aggressively panhandling and striking fear with two female victims in the Imperial Plaza, in Bellaire.

Previous incidents involving Baker happened in the areas of 34th and Noble Streets near Rite Aid where he attempted to enter a female’s vehicle and in the 4900 block of Jefferson and Noble Streets where his vehicle was located last Monday and towed from the area.

Police Chief Mike Kovalyk said it was a relief to have Baker off the streets as several of the victims involved in the encounters were elderly.

Baker was charged with persistent disorderly conduct and transported to the Belmont County Jail.

The investigation is ongoing.
