Police arrest Wheeling man in connection to Elm Grove armed robbery


The man believed to be involved in an armed robbery at the Elm Grove Marathon Gas Station was taken into custody by the Wheeling Police Department  Wednesday night.

Police have identified the man as 24-year-old Richard Dillon Heimbach from Wheeling and was taken into custody after he was allegedly involved in a domestic violence incident on Stone Church Road. 

Following an altercation, police said he ran away before placing him under arrest. 

Heimbach was taken to the Northern Regional Jail. 

According to a police report, Heimbach is being charged with 1st degree robbery, domestic violence, and an additional two counts of domestic violence from previous incidents that happened earlier in the year.
