A large amount of illicit narcotics has been confiscated by the Hancock County Sheriff’s office in Newell, WV.

Hancock County Sheriff Ralph Fletcher says his office received credible information that drugs were being distributed out of a home located at 102 Grant Street.

Police executed a search warrant on Monday and discovered 70 grams of crack/cocaine, nearly 40 grams of heroin, approximately a pound of marijuana, an assortment of prescription pills, a .38 caliber firearm, and more than $3,500 in cash.

“I am very pleased with the work of the deputies, as-well-as the Drug Task Force. This is a significant bust and I am happy we were able to get this off the streets,” said Fletcher.
