Many people across the country will be starting their new year celebrations, and for those of age, that may include some alcoholic beverages.
Police officers will be out very aggressively Thursday night trying to stop drunk drivers before fatal accidents can happen.
Across the country .08 is the point of legal intoxication, but getting to that point is different for everyone. Troopers with the Ohio State Highway Patrol say there are several different factors for reaching that level.
“Everybody is different on how much alcohol they can handle. The size of the person, how much they ate that day, how much sleep they’ve gotten. But for .08, some people, it doesn’t take many. one to two drinks is going to out them over the legal limit,” said Sgt. Robert Bodo of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
If you do plan to drink, make sure you secure yourself a ride home or designate a sober driver before heading out.
