Police are confirming an armed robbery occurred Wednesday morning at the Moundsville Mountaineer Cafe on 4th Street in Marshall County.

When the robbery occurred, the employee was being visited by her niece and a six-month old baby.

According to the employee, when she came out of the poker room to see her niece’s baby, she saw a man holding a gun to her niece. The niece of the employee shouted “please don’t hurt my baby.”

The man then came around to the cash draw, stuffed a gray bag full of money and reportedly said, “I’ll blow your brains out” before taking off and running down the street where he parked his car.

According to a witness who quickly called 911, a masked man with a gun was seen running through the parking lot as the cafe was opening. The suspect dropped some of the money on the ground as he entered his car.

The suspect is being described as a thin white male in his late twenties/early thirties and around 5’4″ tall.

According to Marshall County sheriff Kevin Cecil, police are working on search warrants for potential person of interest.
