Police Officer in WV Arrested for Allegedly Sleeping With Woman Instead of Giving Ticket

A police officer in Farmington, West Virginia was arrested Friday and charged with bribery after he allegedly slept with a woman instead of giving her a ticket.

Marcus Slauer allegedly stopped a woman for speeding on April 22 in Farmington. The woman explained to Slauer that she was on a diversion-style program in South Carolina, where she faced one to five years in jail if she violated any laws, according to court documents.

Slauer then asked her to provide him a good reason not to write her a bunch of tickets, according to West Virginia State Police. Police say after the woman offered Slauer several items, she offered to show him her breasts, which she did to avoid a citation, according to court documents.  Slauer then took the woman back to the police station and had sex with her, according to state police.

Slauer admitted to police that the woman had shown him her breasts, that he gave her the paperwork back and told her they could go back to his office and talk. Slauer said they went into the Farmington Police Department, where she performed oral sex on him and had sexual intercourse with him.

According to the Marion County Sheriff’s Department, Slauer has also been a deputy for approximately two years. At the time of the incident, he was on duty for the Farmington Police Department and not the sheriff’s department.

Once the sheriff’s department found out about the incident, Slauer was placed on leave. He then resigned a few days later, according to the sheriff’s department. It’s unknown whether Slauer is still employed by the Farmington Police Department.

The mayor of Farmington refused to comment on the situation.

Slauer is not currently in jail.
