The name of the man who was murdered early Friday morning has been released by Wheeling Police.

Lemroy Coleman, also known as B.G.Coleman, was shot and killed around 1:00 a.m. Friday morning in the 100 Block of 15th Street in East Wheeling.

Coleman’s last known address is out of Cleveland, but officials say he is well known to law enforcement in the Wheeling area.

Police also say the surviving victim, who was shot in the leg before walking himself to the Wheeling Police station, also has a Cleveland address.

“I don’t think it was a random thing. I think these two victims were familiar with their assailants, I don’t think it was something that just, people just walking out of the bar and get shot,” said Sergeant Gregg McKenzie of Wheeling Police Department.

Police are continuing to investigate leads and say the surviving victim was shot in the leg and does not have life threatening injuries.

The search continues for the gunman, and police say they haven’t ruled drugs out as a factor in the case.
