Surprising news from a local college after its announced 20 positions would be cut.
The announcement was made earlier Friday at Belmont College in St. Clairsville.
WTRF.com has confirmed the job cuts will affect full-time and part-time employees at the college, but would not affect faculty positions.
This is part of a bigger process for Belmont College, one that is dealing with a shrinking budget.
President Dr. Paul Gasparro said, “implementing this plan has required changes to the college’s organizational structure and program offerings that I believe will position the college to not only succeed, but to thrive. Through this process, new and different human resource needs have emerged. As a result, we are taking steps to align our staffing and other resources to better achieve our goal of operational excellence.”
