POWER RESTORED: 3,000 Without Power in Moundsville, Some Schools Closed for Thursday

Officials with AEP Appalachian Power said; as of 8:15 Thursday morning, power had been restored too all customers affected by the outage.

Power had been out for nearly 3,000 for about seven hours, after an equipment failure near the AEP substation close to First Street in Moundsville.


More than 3,000 homes are without power in Moundsville due to a blown transformer.

That’s according to Moundsville Police Department.

The areas affected include in Moundsville and Route 250.

According to AEP, crews are on scene and expect power to be restored by 8 a.m. Thursday.

Schools Closed Due to Outage:

-McNinch Elementary
-Moundsville Middle School
-All Saints Catholic School
